Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and hops. Coffee, roasted malts, caramel and a hint of hops make up the taste. Better if beer is just slightly cool. Nice twist. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2008 Dark brown/black pour with a medium foamy tan head that fizzes away. Lots of dark roasted malt and coffee, as well as a bit of dark chocolate in the aroma and flavor. The hoppy finish on a porter seems out of place, but really it works well, cutting in to the sweetness a bit. Not bad at all. ucusty (1912), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 23, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown/black color with a light tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of malt and caramel with a hint of roasted coffee beans. The balance b/w the malts and hops is very apparent, it actually more on the malty side which surpised me as I expected it to be more bitter. Medium bodied and easy on the palate. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
