Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Flaske. Sødlig duft med en anelse humle i. Klassisk avery. Ikke helt sort, som i uigennemsigtig men god farve for en porter. Smagen er som en god porter, men de har faktisk ret i beskrivelsen, der er en overraskelse med humlen, som igen er klassisk avery. Virkelig solid og lækker øl.

Pours dark brown with slight red tinge and small off-white froth. Aroma of smoke, coffee, chocolate and some hops make their way through. Flavor is creamy chocolate, smokey, woody and a great hop bite fights thru all of that. Each flavor is in excellent balance. Palate is slightly chalky/creamy with ample smooth carbonation. A wonderful porter that stays in style and still manages to be sophisticated and easy to drink.

Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of caramel, toasted, nutty, and molasses, light notes of resin and earth for the hops and yeast, with wood and charcoal in the background. Head id creamy, light brown, with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is dark brown to black. Flavor starts moderately sweet and finishes lightly sweet, acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, creamy and has a soft carbonation. It finishes with a sticky feel. A very bold porter with nice aromas and flavors.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with some muddy reds and a decent tan head. I like the aroma on this one, it has chewy toffee, a bit of roasted coffee, chocolate, and some decent citrus character to highlight it all. The flavor is nicely bittersweet with both sharp coffee tones and light citrus hop character. Other highlights include suggestions of raisins, coffee, and dark fruit. The finish is earthy with a hint of cola and leans on the dry side. This isn’t extra heavy, but has plenty of flavor and enough body to make it hearty. I like it.

12 ounce bottle at room temperature. Nice label with a map of the Americas on it. Dark pour with substantial beige head. Sharp, fruity, hoppy aroma. This is a full-flavored porter, in which the coffee taste is the strongest, but there are touches of dark bread, tangyness, raisins, and tobacco too. Sweet malt followed by spunky hops in the finish. It is not super-rich, but is still plenty robust. Another fine brew from Avery.

A sort of bitter dark chocolate aroma, but still some sweetness. Dark brownish red in color. Not much malt in the flavor The hops are a bit overpowering for a porter. Finish is pretty quick, but sweet roasted malt. Medium body. A good beer, not great, but give it a try.
