Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

A nice sweet aroma. Flvor is good, with a slight hint of chocolate. A bit of graininess in the finish, a result of the dry-hopping I suppose. Good stuff.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, pine, coffee, and hops. Poured very dark brown in color with a small to medium-sized light brown head that diminished but lasted throughout. Opaque. Small lacing. Flavor is light to medium bitter. Tastes of chocolate, hops, soy, pine, and roasted malts. Medium body. Thin texture. Average to lively carbonation. Roasted malt and pine hop finish.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a near opaque brown cola brew with a creamy dark beige head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and creamy light ring. Aroma of toasted dark malt, chocolate, roasted nuts, a touch of coffee and vanilla. Taste is medium to full bodied, some carbonation with flavors of mostly toasted dark malt, some light chocolate and roasted nuts. Finish has a mild bitterness with aftertaste of roasted nuts, dark malt and chocolate.

Bottle. Dark black with a light tan head. Smells of coffee, roast. Taste of coffee, roast, vanilla, nuts, chocolate. A classic porter. The palate is heartier than I’d expect for a porter. Like all Averys, very drinkable and very enjoyable. An excellent session beer!

12oz bottle. Aroma of dark roasted malt and zesty citrus hops. Some creamy chocolate. Nice balance between creamy sweet malt and zesty bitter hops. Pours opaque brown with a lasting, thick, creamy khaki head. producing nice lacing. Flavor has lots of toasted bitter malt and some citrus, and slightly pine resin, hops. Bittersweet chocolate. A hint of roasted nuts. The dry hopping really adds an interesting aspect to a traditional porter. Medium to full bodied. Creamy. Bitter malt finish.
