Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Bottle. Pours dark brown. Coffee/cocoa dominates the palate. Not overly sweet or syrupy. More hoppy than most porters sets this one apart. My favorite of Avery’s ’lighter’ beers.

[bottle] Dark ruby colour. OK head. Aroma is roasty with notes of coffee and sweet liquorice. Flavour is roasty and ashy with notes of more sweet liquorice. The alcohol gives it a somewhat harsh finish.

Bottle. 12 fl. oz. A dark brown, almost black, beer with frothy, light tan head. Aromas of mocha and hops.Carbonation tingles the tongue as it goes down. Medium to full bodied with soft, dry texture. Flavor Is sweet caramel and cocoa with toasty bitterness. Mmmm.

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage. Dark brown, clear-looking beer with a small, tan head. Sweet, chocolatey nose with some coffee and fruits. Sweet and chocolatey flavor as well, a little roasted, and lightly fruity. Mellow, silky mouthfeel. Very nice balanced and quaffable beer, but I would prefer it a bit heavier and bigger. (070512)

Black with a mid sized, disappearing off-white head. Chocolate and coffee aromas mix with floral hops. Has a distinct roast bitterness, but with a rich and soft body. Long lasting roast aftertaste

Tastey, heavy porter. I would say this porter is very stylistic and overdid coffee theme of porters. A little overpowering. I would like a bit more barely and less coffee taste but still nice.

Dry hopped porter--count me in! Medium body. Creamy silky roated chocolate, coffee flavor. Affordable too.
