Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

A very dark brown beer with a slight red shine under a fluffy brown head. The aroma is lovely both hoppy and roasted malty, the hops giving it notes of citrus, and the roasted malt giving it notes of coffee and a bit of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with quite strong roasted notes, but in a very smooth way, opposite many porters more dry roastiness. The flavor also contains notes of good coffe and chocolate, as well as a bit of citrusy from the hops. The end is very smooth but also OK bitter, with the citrus and chocolate lingering for a long time. The body is quite light (especially considering the alcohol content), but in the aftertaste the alcohol bites slightly in the tongue and cheeks. Nice one.

Pours black with slight red glinting when held to the light. Has a small off-white head.Nice flavor-coffee, a little chocolate, smoke, and a woody oak taste. The dry hopping adds a nice hop kick at the end, something that’s uncommon in porters. Really good.

Poured a deep black with red fringes with a medium foamy tan head. Aroma was woody, nutty and a hint of sharp cheese. Sweet flavor, malty, a little bit of candy and plum. Clean, slightly oily finish brings the roasted flavor and an additional grainy flavor.

Bottle. Pours dark ruby with small brownish head. Sweetish malty aroma with hops. Wooden notes and notes of plums develops as it warms. Sweetish malty flavour. Some wooden notes. Dryish and bitter finish with notes of apple. A nice beer, but nothing spectacular. 29-10-06.

Biggish beige head over deep dark red body, barely translucent. Sweetish milky caramel aroma with harmonic chocolate and roasty notes and a faint background of wood and pine needle hops. Deep, soft milky roasty caramel and chocolate taste. Very harmonic and incredibly smooth, like velvet. Sharpish pine needle background, and a touch of soot. Dry, roasty aftertaste with chocolatey notes. Wonderful! What a pleasure this beer is, especially after rating so much bullshit. (0.33l bottle. Wish it was an 0.75.)

Bottle. Pours pretty much black brown with a very small, quickly dissipating tan head. Very fragrant; bitter dark chocolate, roses, hazelnut, lavender. Very unique, interesting aroma. Flavor of coffee primarily, lavender, bitter peanut, unsweetened cocoa. Mouth feel is solid, about as thick as one wold expect from a potter. Aftertaste is again, strangely floral and coffee house at the same time; dark chocolate, coffee, medicinal flowers like chamomile, lavender, rose hips, orange rind. This is a crazy ass beer. Herbal, floral, and creamy and coffee at the same time? I’ve never tasted a beer quite like this. That does not necessarily mean this is the most delicious beer out there, but it is certainly unique.

Bottled. Dark reddish brown coloured. Dense light brown head. Sweetish, chocolatish, light roasted, spiced and herbal aroma. Quite delicious. Flavour is smooth. Loads of chocolate and a mild roastiness in the flavour. Fruits is there, herbs are there and some vague spicenotes. Medium to full bodied. Quite dry mouthfeel. Balanced. Ends on a light roasty bitterness with some choconotes. Good one and just what I needed today after a long day at work.
