Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Dark brown color. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla. The flavor is based on caramel, with a hint of roasted malt and liquorice and coffee. A bit dry and not mature.

The aroma is pleasent with chocolate, caramel, and roasted malt. The pour is black with a long lasting, huge, tan head. The flavor is roasted with dark chocolate and hops and a nice bitter finish.

I liked this porter, not too sweet at all. much more hopped than expected, but it loses some flavor as it warms, I don’t know why, but its very mellow as it warms, good drink though! Alcohol is well hidden!

Bottle. Rich coffee color with a thin caramel colored head. Aroma is hoppy, smoky, bitter chocolate notes, cherries, mildly sweet, and little earthy (bananas?). Flavor is immediately bitter (like bitter almonds), smoky flavors, almost burnt tasting. Good bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is decent, refreshing, nicely carbonated, but too watery. Nothing outstanding, but very drinkable.

Pours a rich chocolate brown with a nice head. Smells sweet and roasty. Tastes smooth and refreshing and leaves a nice hopped flavor when it’s all over. This is a great porter.

Bottle. No head but the aroma is typical Avery and i love it. Chocolate, caramel, coffee not the best from Avery but still good.

Pours a dark brown, almost black, with small light tan head. Roasty chocolate, caramel, and hops in the aroma. Flavors of chocolate, fruit, roasted malt, and hops with a roasted after-taste. A fairly thin palate. Worth a try, but just an average porter.

12 oz bottle via Liquid Solutions. Pours a dark brown. Small head that dissipates quickly leaving no lace. Mild aroma of caramel and chocolate malts. Thin mouthfeel. Roasted chocolate and raisen flavors. Weak fizzy cola-like finish with some hops playing behind the burnt chocolate malt. Too much carbonation. Unspectacular and a bit bland....sort of like their Out of Bounds Stout.....
