Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

This is one of the better porters I’ve had to this point. The pour is a very dark brown with a very nice tan head. The aroma is really great--a nice mix of dark chocolate with some roasted malt. The flavor follows suit, but with a little hint of that caramel malt in the back. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Poured XX dark with nice mocha colored head. Excellent lacing. Aroma is chocolate, burnt black patent, and a hint of hops. Flavor has superb balance (in my mind) of chocolate malts, burnt black patent malts and sweet caramel malt flavor. The sweet caramel is what makes it for me. The sweetness is just enough to play against the dryer chocolate and much dryer black patent malts. Hops are just noticeable. Left with a balanced aftertaste. Best Porter I’ve ever had.

[Bottle - Johns Market] A good dark brown porter. A good even aroma. This had a nice easy to drink flavro. Was missing some of the good strong chocolate and roast flavors but was a good brew. Easy to drink.

Bottled. Dark brown color, small tan head. Crisp, a bit citric nose. Roasted, cold coffee flavor, medium-bodied. Quite tasty coffeish porter. Not too thin as it has some body to back up.

Pours deep dark coffee brown w/ shallow spritzy froth. Aromas of cocoa. Medium nectar w/ ample residuals. Flavor is dry cocoa, new leather, charcoal, roasted coffee bean. Slight bittering on the finish w/ a touch of asprin. Very rich. Overall: not so exciting.

Bottle. Sweet, fruity, roasted aroma. Almost totally black colour. Small light brown head. Roasted flavour, fruity and dusty. Not that powerful, but with a distinct bitterness in the aftertaste.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown, almost opaque, with a thick, foamy khaki head that laced the glass. Roasty, dark chocolate aroma and flavor with a hint of sprucy hops. Slightly sweet with a bit of a roasty finish. Excellent porter.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2006. Black colour with a lovely frothy head. Smooth aroma of roastedness, liquoirice and some chocolate. Nice smooth flavour of roastedness, chocolate and some malt, very nice and lovely.
