Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

12 fl oz bottle. Black with a reddish hue. Small off-white head. Bold chocolate and coffee sweet aromas. Quite a lot of hops in the mouth. Minty and crisp hops. Medium bodied and crisp mouthfeel from carbonation. Rather interesting that sweetness in the nose is not followed up by sweet flavour nor mouthfeel. Finishes abrubtly and dry.

Julios Spring Beer Festival. Dark brown pour, with a sunset fringe and a head of tan. Aroma of light vegetal browness, hinted with grassy hop waft. Flavor is a very smooth, sweetness with heavy roasted character, much toast and a few caramelized sugars and roasted almond touches. Finishes a touch too sweet, but with lemongrassesque smack.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a clear, dark mahogany with a beige head. Roasted, yet fruity nose. Medium body with plenty of hard roasted malt, but never burned. Lightly hoppy finish on a sweet background. Lovely. 200506

Had this on draught. This one seemed on the sweeter side with not much roast or black malt flavor. Tasted almost like a strong slightly darkened brown ale. There were some chocolate and roast flavor just hard to detect. It threw me off, as it is not like any porter i have had before. Good caramel flavor as well as some hopiness in the finish.

(Bottled) Very dark red color with a small, beige head. Quite original, licorice-roasty, dark-malty aroma with slightly sour turpentine hints. Burned-malty, licoricey flavor with a dry, ashy and burned finish. Medium to full-bodied, quite low-carbonated palate. A nice brew, but maybe slightly too burned to reach the top.
