Commercial Description:
A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist - it's dry-hopped!! We've expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

dark black with white head. black malt and hop to the nose. flavor of crystal malt up front with a near perfect blend of chocolate and black malt that results in a licorice like flavor, some nice hop bitterness and even some flavor. finish is very nice and dry with lingering chocolate. an awesome beer, one of the best robust porters that i have had

pours deep black with a mediusized creamy tan head. aroma is lightly hoppy...spruce... with roasty malt, bread, maybe a touch of rye? very hoppy for a porter...defnitely a black ipa! piney sprucey hops with some roastiness with subtle dark chocolate. creamy mouthfeel and a bitter, hoppy finish.

Pours dark with faint ruby red highlights and a rocky beige head. Aroma is roasty with some chocolate, mostly roasty. Flavor maintains roasty bent, slightly dry/astringent and burnt. Kind of thin on the tongue for my liking.

Definitely an above average porter. Pour is very nice but there is a distinct bitter, metallic flavor that holds it back.

Bomber w/ Mpersinger. Pours dark brown, sweet aroma, sweet malty taste lacking upfront roasted flavors, some dark fruit and vanilla are apparent. Hops seemed minimal bitterness but good aroma.

Pours nearly black with a bubbly head that fades... Slightly sweet aroma with caramel and roasty malts and a big hoppy aroma with notes of citrus... Flavor is very interesting with roasty notes, chocolate, coffee, toffee and then a punch of hops... Medium bodied with lingering hops and roastiness, with it was a bit creamier, a bit thin for the ABV and style... Very Interesting...

On tap at the Flying Saucer in KC. Pours a deep brown body with red tints. Creamy, slow dissipating, light brown head that leaves lots of lace. Aroma is surprisingly hoppy and fruity. Lots of citrus hops as well as big roasted malts. Light coffee and chocolate notes with a good amount of earthy characteristics. Flavor is very fruity as well. Big amount of astringent citrus hops and mild roasted malts. Sweet caramel malts along with a moderate black coffee aftertaste. A bit of rich, dark chocolate comes through in the finish as well. Palate is pretty thin for such a big porter and slightly rough around the edges because of all the citrus. Overall, a really nice and complex porter. I like the boat load of hops in this and appreciate something a little different. Good stuff.
