brettpace (179), Northridge, California, USA May 10, 2009 Terrible, maybe one of the grosser beers i have ever had. Tasted sour, or like a sock drug through the rocky mountains. mj (4971), Colorado, USA Sep 10, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Unfiltered muddy brown colored body. Nose is sweaty, stinky, aged and dried corn with some fusel alcohol and scotch-pine, with a touch of woody bourbon, more of this tasted than smelled. Lingering oily texture, medium to full body, more muddy and chewy than heavy and full, I guess. There’s a note of bourbon and rye whiskey that develops towards the end of the pint, more of a medium dry wood up front and early, with a bourbon note on the back, even though this wasn’t aged in bourbon, as far as I know. Decent enough, but the booze gives me a headache, it’s a little over the top. ratman197 (3137), Arvada, Colorado, USA Aug 22, 2008 On tap @ Avery Tasting Room poured a cloudy orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, fruittiness, nuts, light oak, some vinous notes and a hint of spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of fruittiness, carmel, light oak, some vinous notes and a hint of nuts with a crisp lingering fruity finish.
