Commercial Description:
Our winter strong ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 2 years.

Dark brown pour, nearly opaque, with a huge fluffy white head that lasts forever. Spicy aroma of mixed malts. Flavor is very robust, malty with a touch of nut. Subtle spiciness - guessing it is not actually spice from the description - that is very warm and rich. Full bodied and delicious.

Bottle. Dark amber/brownish color. Smallish white head. Nice full malt bill on the nose with some spices, fruit and toffee. Flavor is very nice. Full flavor with some fruit, rich malts and some nice background hops that get you in the end. This is well done indeed.

Tap at Pap, 2005 vintage. Not bad at all. Tastes like a slightly thicker raisin soda. Doesnt have the levels of either OSA 03 or Jubelation 05.

Moderately strong malt aroma with some spicy yeast smell. Clear amber color with a medium white head. Light bitter beginning that gets sweet in the finish. Roasted end.

Aroma of toffee, some raisin and spices. Flavor of hopes and raisins and a bit of a bite in the alcohol aftertaste. Pretty good.

From a 12 oz bottle this beer pours a nice mahogany with a thin tan head. Aroma of toffee, dark fruit, malts and some nuttiness. Taste of hops, maltiness and raisin with some fruit and spice. Nice winter beer that does not come with an real alcohol finish that some strong dark ales are known for.

Picked up a sixer of this tonight at Market of Choice. Pours a medium brown with a big tan head that leaves nice big lacing. Smells strongly of malt, brown sugar and caramel, lovely aroma. Very sweet and malty flavor with a very creamy finish and aftertaste. Mild hopping. Another tasty one from Avery.
