Pours a dark amber with a thick tan head and some nice lacing. Aromas of nuts, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is the same, with dark fruit and a great palate. Very nice.

pours a clear ruby-amber with a tannish head. aroma is hoppy, lightly nutty, some toffee and some toasty malt and a bit of straw. taste is toffee, light caramel, some hops, toasty notes, some nuts. mid-full bodied with a creamy/sudsy mouthfeel. leaves a layer of bitter on the palate. nice bitter finish. alcohol is nicely blended, and there’s some nice lacing. quite nice, very drinkable. not uber-complex or overpowering, but has a nice taste. would fit great into a session.

Jan. 2007 - Dark brown pour, two finger head and really nice lacing. Flavor dominated by dark roasted malts with some nuttiness...very little sweetness or alcohol noticeable. Very simple in character...I must have had a muted version of this, because all the goodies other people are commenting on just weren’t there for me. Nonetheless, it was a solid sipping brew that I enjoyed.

Tasted 2/11/08. 12oz bottle. Either a 2005 0r 2006. Filtered with a deep dark ruby brown hue. Spiraling taupe head. Aromas of alcohol, plums and raisins. Bready and dark berries. Resinous grassy hop undertone. Full bodied with a sweet sticky palate. Tart fruit flavors. Good alcohol with a wonderfullly rolling palate. Cellar temperature. Dark fruit and dark chocolate. Bready and a touch citrus fruit. Nutty and tangy. Peppery resinous hop finish. Nice alcohol warming sensation. Mild effervescence. Caramel flavor with a touch too heavy on the burn, but still a very nice seasonal!

Bottled, pours deep brown with a copper hue. A thin hint of vanilla colored head and lacing for the first few minutes. Subtle aroma of peppery caramel, raisin and almond with some wet hop notes. Sweet toffee and chocolate malt flavors are prominent, with a good bitter punch towards the end. Some orange citrus is noticeable in the palate, including some French vanilla latte. I get a bit of a metallic sting with the carbonation. Easy to drink for 8%. Not bad.

Pours a clear dark brown with a creme head that rises and falls just about as fast. Nice caramel laiden sweet nose. Flavor profile is nice. Nice smooth sweet tones with woody after edges to it. Smooth liquid feel and a biting carbonation. Very easy to drink. A nice winter warmer.

dark mahogany color, small tn head, good lacing. Aroma is very nutty, notes of hazelnuts, plums, freash baked raisin bread. Wow, i could smell this all day, such a beautiful aroma. Flavour is malty, with again, a good amount of nutty flavours. Lots of hazelnut, and some almond. NIce bready notes in the finish with some ripe fruit. Wow, this is an incredible beeer! I love this!
