Commercial Description:
Our winter strong ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 2 years.

Draft @ Blind Pig. Dark body with amber tint. little head with some lacing. Malty, nutty aroma with pine mixed in. Strong hop and alcohol presence, but lacked the malt sweetness that I really lock for in this style. Enjoyable, but just a little off too...

Bottled. Pours a clear dark amber with a lacy off-white head. Sweet toffee-malt nose. Medium body with light carbonation. Lightly sweet taste of fruit and nuts. Well rounded.

A very solid ale. Toffee and dry malt on the nose -- a bit of chocolate on the tongue. Classy beer. A nice winter offering.

..as i watch myself in the reflection of the tv...i drink this drink as it were my last....this beer has something to it, like when you get sand in your eye and you get the sand out of your eye and the relief sets in....pure goodness touches my lips as a bear would grapple with a strawberry in a basket of cloves...the aroma and smell that emanates from my mug makes me think, "what if pigs could fly?"...would they smell like this gem?...i’ll tell you this..i’ve never smelt a pig like this...the lamb is great....Jubilation makes me smile....it has flavours that make the mind race and the fingers walk, sweet embraces tangled up in a web of magical goodness...one day i will have the answer, but for now the overall has to be this...awaiting a brew that makes me write like a drunk poet on acid: means that the world is ready for a pint of jubilation...thanks mom!............."thank you jesus"-Hank Hill..

Awesome nosefeel for a hophead that did’t expect it, great color with a nice yeasty head that ended up lacing nicely. Lots of malt + hops that balance beautifuliy. Hints of coffee and the ABV is hidden niclely. Worth saving a bottle or two for next year.

Tap at Capital Ale House - Innsbrook. A great dark ruby/mahogony body with a light ivory head. Aroma was excellent, fruity and malty with a nice hop complexity. Taste was very nice, malts come through very strongly along with some hops and light fruits. A very tasty ber.

mahogany body with massive head...aroma huge in dark fruit, chocolate roasted malts, and light citrus hops...excellent flavor profile of caramel and toffee, dark fruit, wood-like characteristics...finishes slightly hoppy and bitter...very nice

12oz 06 bottle. pours a dark mahogony with thick fluffy head. aroma has PNW hops?, huge malt presence with undertones of cocoa and burnt coffee. smells great. flavor leaves something to desire. big malt presence but where’s the hop bitterness and flavor? sure it’s drinkable but why? flavors of toffee, hints of chocolate and caramel. can’t taste the alcohol. i’ve had this at one year old and it didn’t improve much maybe a little more balanced but not enough to save this beer..3.

12oz 05 bottle aged 2 years. this really isn’t aging well. drinkable yes, but even more alcoholy. 2.7
