ebrowner88 (113), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Apr 11, 2008 Updated: Apr 25, 2008 Beautiful deep brown/amber color. 2 finger head. Sweet caramel malt with a little pear nose. Heavier and more complex then I would have expected. Malty taste, sweet, more creamy mouthfeel then a brown ale but similar initial taste. Flavor turns roasted chocolate at finish with very little bitterness. you can tell a lot of thought went into the choice of malts. Very good beer. I would drink again.
oberabcbbsok (650), Hoboken, Belgium Aug 3, 2008 Very nice beer. Had a vertical tasting of this beer at the 15th anniversary. Hay impressed by those: the 2007 version, 2006 and 2004 version on bottle. I loved it radiomgb (1722), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 3, 2008 Amber-brown in colour, creamy and rich beige coloured head, excellent lacing. The aroma is malty, chalky, some chocolate, plums, high sweetness. The aroma is malty, rich, sweet with lots of fruit and some chocolate. Sweet but still some bitterness in the mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes sweet, fruity and malty.
This dries out at the end but it still lacks a bit of what the Fullers Vintage Ales bring.
355ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheCheeseMan, thanks Dan.

RCL (999), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Jul 13, 2008 Pours a brilliant mahogany with a creamy ecru head. Aroma of brazil nuts, light spice, and black tea. Nice flavor; rich but light enough to be quite drinkable. Very nice. beerheart (219), Erie, Colorado, USA Jul 8, 2008 Like Fullers 1845, this is a seasonal. But like that beer, it is not a traditional spiced holiday ale. It is a well brewed strong ale. Aromas and flavors of toffee, brown sugar, and roasted malts. uhre (226), Denmark Jun 24, 2008 Pours a great head, the colour of the beer is dark red. The aroma is malty, with hops and roasted barley. Flavor is very good with roasted barley and hops.
