| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours opaque black with limited brown foamy head that is mostly diminishing. Aroma of hops and malt. Initial flavor is dominated by hop bitterness with some sweet malt. Flavor ends with the hops, where they become more floral than straight bitter. Aftertaste is moderately lasting. Limited lacing, light carbonation, medium body, and limited alcohol noted. Drinkability is very high, liked the dry stout style and thought it was impressive for an "average" tier beer. Slipstream (760), USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2008 12 ounce bottle, drunk straight from the refrigerator - the label suggest keeping it refrigerated. The label also has an interesting drawing on it - a skier caut in an avalanche, or something like that. Black pour with a light head and thick lacing. Spritely aroma of floral hops. The flavor is dark chocolate and smokey malt and grains. Here is a nicely balanced stout - not too bitter or too sweet, with the right amount of hops. It reminded me of Guinness Cold on tap (which I had in the U.K.), only better. The label says "out of bounds - yeah, it is!", but this is well within the boundaries of a very nice stout - very drinkable, but still a serious brew. daknole (2941), Plantation, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Bottle, thanks to Strykzone. Poured a black color with a light brown head that faded quickly with some lacing left behind. Smells of coffee and hops. Flavor is a bit hoppier than I usually like in my stouts, but it is a well crafted beer. grimreeser (797), Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Feels a little thin, decent flavor. Not really my type of beer. stouby (1945), Holbaek, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Bottle at home.
Black like tar with a very large light brown head, fine lacings. Aroma moderate/heavy malty (roasted, burnt, licorice) and hoppy. Flavor moderate/heavy sweet and bitter. Light/medium body. Blom (390), Odense, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2008 Pitch black with a dense grey head. Cocoa, chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma. The flavour is primarily bitter and full of liquorice. Yummi!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Color matches the black label with a very creamy, thick light brown head. Strong roasted aroma, lots of fresh ground coffee filling it out. Texture is a little thin. Nice roasted malty flavor at first. The middle gets a little creamy and settles into a flavorful bitter coffee finish. I’d like to see that creamy middle spread out a little more and bump up the body.
