Commercial Description:
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We aren't afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something you've been looking for in a beer.

on tap at Andy’s Corner Bar. Black with a nice off white head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Taste is is nice and roasty, with chocolate and bitterness from the roasted malt throughout the palate- maybe some hop bitterness as well. very nice.

12 oz bottle from Arctic Liquors online. Average size tan head, Dissipates quickly down to 1/2". Beer is black. Very thick pour. Roasted coffe/chocolate aroma. Medium bodied. Strong wallop on the intial taste. Bitter coffee flavor. Finishes with a lingering bittersweet aftertaste, more bitter than sweet and loses it’s flavor in the dry finish. Less hop and more malt and alcolhol would improve this. Well carbonated and just a tad too hoppy. Take away the black color and the aroma and this actually tastes more like an IPA than a stout. Will try it again.

In the bottle. Pours tar black with a large brown head that produced big volcanic foam bubbles. Web-like lacing. Sweet caramel and coffee roasted aromas. Hazelnut and chocolate as well. Flavor has a strong roasted taste. Much more roasted than toasted. Great malt body that is indeed a bit milky. Milk tart finish with plently of last minute emerging hop flavor. Not a smooth stout, but very flavorful. UPDATE 11/2006: Giant foamy monster head. beige in color with fairly large bubbles. The head is the consistency of concrete. The body is a bit watery for such a thick as a brick appearance. Has a strong bitter roasted coffee flavor.

Pours dark brown/black with a small tan head. Mostly lasting, some lacing. The aroma is light, some roast, chocolate and molases. The flavor is roasty, slightly burnt, molases. The mouthfeel is light and slightly thin.

Interesting. The flavor of this one doesn’t quite match the mouthfeel. It is very dark and roasty, but thin on the palate. I think I’ll need another bottle to be sure.

12oz bottle, no date. Pours a deep red brown with a large tan head. Aroma of big roasty malts, some coffee, dirt (not in a bad way), slight pine. Pretty bitter, though I can’t quite tell if it’s from the big roasty malts or the hops. Dry bitter coffee finish. A bit thin on the mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Good brew.

Bottle shared with and courtesy of Jerc. Pitch black, huge aero chocolate bar like bubbly head - looks perfect. Really nice soft chocolate aroma - milk chocolate, not dry baker’s chocolate. Oily. Really nice. Wow, tons of roast in taste - where did that come from, it wasn’t in the aroma! Lots of chocolate as well, but this taste is dominated by dry roast, with a body not quite big enough to hold it all in check. Still, this is a very good stout - it was nice to have something this flavorful in a stout that wasn’t 8-10%!

Bottle. Black body with a good sized creamy head. Mild chocolate roast aroma is pleasant. (7+). Very dry, bitter roast flavour with chocolate notes. The roast is a bit much for my tastes at times. Medium palate (3+). Solid stout.
