Alldaydrinker (475), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA Apr 15, 2007 Poured into a pint glass with a nice thick frothy soft tan head with a dark colour. Aroma is of chocolate, malts and hint of coffee. Has a decent lacing and lasting head. Flavour is malty, palate filled with chocolate, hint of fruits and finishing with bitter hops that remains constant on the palate. A very enjoyable dry stout.
chicagodri (634), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 27, 2008 Decent stout, not overwhelming. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Nice aroma and flavor of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Very easy stout to drink. Solid. I got this is a stout sampler pack. Defreni (551), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 21, 2008 Flaske. Kæmpe skumhoved, der tog 5 minuter for at lægge sig. Rigtig solid lækker stout med en tand ristet smag, og en del humle. Men fint afbalanceret. God øl. CaryTheDude (489), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. Roasty, coffee-e, some fruitiness in it somewhere. Interesting flavors in there, kinda yummy, but not as intense as just about every other Avery. Pawola22 (131), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Oct 28, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark dark dark brown almost black with a creamy, finger-width, light brown head. Dissipates pretty slowly and remains quite lacy. Good looking stout. Mellow aroma of mostly milk chocolate with some light roasts, caramel malts, and bittering hops. Flavor is similar. Mostly backended. Mildly roasty and chocolatey with a really enjoyable bitter ending. Not as potent as other stouts, but very nice for a lower ABV. Pretty well balanced and light to medium bodied. Overall, nice flavor and great lingering bitterness. A very nicely done stout. drfabulous (803), Columbia, Missouri, USA Oct 26, 2008 A season Avery made it to Columbia. How about that. Roasty. Bit of caramel and hops.Pours real nice with lots of head and body. The colder it gets outside, the better this will be.
