2009 release, sampled at the brewery during GABF week. Tart, fruity, sweet, vinous aroma, some trace of the port, with hints of grape, cherry, honey, toast and wood. Clear light-medium amber color, head is off-white and fine. Flavor is strongly winey and woody with some lighter sour touches, lots of grape, honeyish sweetness, perhaps some faint peppery alcohol and late tannins. Acidic, dry, amply carbonated palate, very full body. Interesting, unique stuff.

On Tap at the Avery Brewing Company, Boulder 23/09/2009 Some sour fruit aroma. Amber coloured and slightly hazy in appearance. Strong in alcohol and sour with a little dryness and a port flavoured finish.

Avery tasting room GABF week 2009. Dark gold. Very winey with the brett not overwhelming. Tart and also a bit sweet. Deep rich undertones and too easy to drink. My favorite from the tasting room.

On tap at Avery, GABF week ’09.
Pours a deep, rich amber with a woodsy cedar peach nose. Flavor is malty sour cherry. Tingly mouthfeel. A nice, mild sour.

First beer sampled during gabf week 2009. Draft from taproom. Great way to kickoff this party. Awesome brew with a hint of Brett sourness and the saltiness of a bw matched with port undertones.

Draught at Avery, GABF week 2009. Pours amber with an average, rocky white head, somewhat diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel, straw), average hop (flowers, perfume), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of plum, date, cherry, port, and wood. Medium bodied, mineral texture, average carbonation, and a sour finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and sourness.

On tap at Avery poured a hazy amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of horseblanket, cherry, light oak, light carmel and light vanilla. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a tart finish. Flavors of brett funk, leather, fruittiness, oak and hints of carmel and spice with a crisp lingering tart funky finish.
