A_R (293), Georgia, USA Jul 6, 2008 Deep amber in appearance. This is a very solid beer with a good mouthfeel. There is a good balance between the hops and malt, with both having there own notable appearance.
phishpond417 (1386), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 19, 2008 this beer pours a clear amber colour with a medium sized tan head. Aroma is slightly hopped with roasted malts and nutmeg. Mouthfeel is mild, creamy with dark cherry and ripe apple flavor. Noticeable hop character but well balanced with a long smooth finish. changeup45 (557), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 17, 2008 Pours a hazy copper-amber color with a nice off-white head with some staying power and decent amounts of lacing. Aroma is mostly fruity with traces of hops and malts. Malty taste with some brown sugar and spices with fruity hops. Mild bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel seemed a little thin or perhaps a touch unbalanced. Nothing special but a pretty good session beer. 1_2many (197), Ohio, USA Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown amber with a small soft head. Aroma is a nice balance of floral citrus hops and lots of caramel malt. Flavor is also balanced nicely. Goodness sweetness finished by some moderate bitterness. Palate has mild carbonation, medium bodied, smooth easy drink. This is quite good in my opinion. Balanced in every way with plenty of flavor. If you’re looking for a session beer that is not extreme in sweet malt or bitter hops then you will probably enjoy this. This is probably one of the best amber ales I’ve had. JoeMcPhee (3671), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 9, 2008 Thanks to jcwattsrugger for leaving this one in my fridge after a tasting awhile back. Deep amber beer with a thin white head. Deep rich malty aroma. Light caramel and grapefruity hop aroma. Light cookie dough maltiness. Slightly chewy and fruity. Good balance, lightly sweet and caramelly. A bit of fruitiness, orange and citrus. Lingering sweetness. Okay brew. FlyingSwine (112), Littleton, Colorado, USA Jul 25, 2008 12 oz bottle in pint glass.
Pours a dark red with a fleeting, light-tan head. No lacing. Aroma is a bit metallic, with an odd hint of body sweat. Flavor is fairly well balanced, with a distinct piney hop presence and a touch of sweet malt. Palate starts with some of fizz, is light-medium bodied, and finishes drier than you’d expect from an Amber Ale. Overall an okay beer, but I just can’t get past the aroma.
