Gregis (848), Overland Park, Kansas, USA May 13, 2008 Bottle courtesy of aaronphazel. Pours a clear reddish-copper with a thin beige head that deposits patchy lace on the glass. The nose is of caramel malt supported by lightly citric and piny hops. The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium-bodied with soft, almost creamy carbonation leading to a toasty and lightly bitter finish. The flavor follows the nose with toasty caramel up front and Cascade bitterness balancing out the profile. This is one of those rare beers where I feel that the commercial description at the top of this page is pretty accurate. Thanks for the bottle, Aaron; this is a tasty amber.
Bungalo22 (219), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pours a dark orange/brown with a small head. really one of the nicer looking ales I have seen. A nice sweet malty back round. Very smooth on the palate with a slight sweetness. I am not a huge Ale fan unless they are really good and this one is right up there. Avery does not disappoint. GJF (190), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Jul 6, 2008 I’m not always an amber fan, mostly because it’s one of those "styles" that can mean whatever some wants it to mean. That said, this is a really drinkable beer (regardless of whatever style it fits). Sweet aroma, big malty body, good hop follow through. Avery hits it again. A_R (274), Georgia, USA Jul 6, 2008 Deep amber in appearance. This is a very solid beer with a good mouthfeel. There is a good balance between the hops and malt, with both having there own notable appearance. kwoeltje (1176), Manchester, Missouri, USA Jul 6, 2008 (bottle) Fairly dark amber with small head. Mild malt aroma. Flavor is biscuit/caramel malt, slightly sweet, with somepine hops in the finish. astrofrk (27), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 6, 2008
