Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Great flavor bomb -- nutty and some spice, citrusy, a little bit of sweet fruit with some semi-funky yeast going on. This is a really nice offering from Avery and certainly a nice addition to Hog Heaven and the Reverend.

Bomber poured a cloudy amber with minimal head. Incredible smell, sweet, musky from the yeast with nice strong fruit notes. Body is a bit thin but with a balanced hop flavor surrounding the yeast, mild malt and fuitiness. Overall, excellent, brilliant, superb. Extremely complex.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy golden orange with a medium sized head that had poor head retention. Smell: Very light on the nose and not very special. Biscuity malts belgian yeast, and fruits are present. Apple and oranges mostly with a light hint of spices. Taste: Everything this lacked in appearance and smell it makes up for here. Pine, grapefruit, oranges, yeast, and malts all make an appearance. There is a nice alcohol feel to it in the finish with a citrus bitterness. Mouthfeel/drinkability: A medium body with high carbonation and a dry finish.

Bottle. Poured an orange caramel hue with a thin head. Nose is fruity with some candied sugars. Drank this blind, was like a triple. Creamy mouthful with some nice depth of flavors. Some nice fruit notes add a touch of sweetness but this is very drinkable and a nice take on the style.

Bottle. 25.4 oz. Pours hazy, pinkish-brown with a half-finger creamy beige head. Aroma of apple cider, vanilla, honey, cinnamon, scotch, and figs. Very suave, smooth mouthfeel with a complex body; starts easy with a very firm, bold finish. Excellent American brewed Belgian strong.

Cloudy straw pour, very low head, some lace. Sweet alcohol aroma. High carb, aggressive hops and alcohol. Nice sweet vanilla flavor, very thick mouthfeel, a bit phlegmy on the back of the throat. Tasty brew, with lots of alcohol and some wood.

On Tap at the Avery Brewing Company, Boulder 23/09/2009 Fruit aroma. White head. Golden coloured and a little hazy in appearance. Strong in alcohol with a little dryness in a crisp and bitter malt finish.
