Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

(Bottled 1 Pint 6 Fl. Oz, BB 11/2009). Hazy orange-amber color, small steady off-white head. Apricot, peach and spices in the fruity nose. Very sweet fruity-yeasty flavor - apricot, peach, banana and some spices. First thought was: "hmm .. this tastes very English" and sure, Styrian Goldings hops are used. Hops rise in the finish. Also Belgian style candy sugar sweetness. Aftertaste has some alcohol too and dry hoppy notes. Quite pleasant, just a bit too sugary, propably would be better after one or two years in the cellar.

Golden ale with fluffy white head that clears quickly. Slightly hoppy aroma with a little melon. Tastes of toffee, pear, and apple. Mellow mouthfeel, finishes quickly. I had the ’05 vintage which was a little better.

Cloudy light orange with a thin white head. Lightly spiced with slight bitterness from the hops. A little sweeter than I prefer but not a bad Belgian ale. I might try it again if the price would come down. $6 seems a little excessive.

Sampled from bottle: pours a vibrant, translucent golden-orange colour with a small white head. Lacing left behind is scattered, but noticeable. Based on my stuffed up nose, the aroma is of bananna, honey and ripe mangoe. Taste is sweet, bubbly with plenty of tropical fruits. Pineapple and lime. Finishes very nicely.

Bottle. Pours golden with thin white head. Aroma of fruit and yeast. Taste is of fruit, slightly sour. Pleasant beer, nothing special. Needs refinement.

Bomber. This beer reminded my a lot of New Belgium’s trippel and it made me hard not to think that. True to the light Belgian style ale with the alcohol not very noticeable. Banana and yeasty notes complimented with a little bit of hops. I guess I was expecting more or maybe I am not very fond of the style.

Tap at Pap. I don’t usually like lighter Belgians, but this was very nice. Reminded me of Castelaine de Garde but stronger and with more bite. Tart mulberries, yeast, sourdough bread, funk are what I picked up, mixed up in that classic ’trippel’ taste. Tastes like it’s from Belgium, not Boulder, so I guess they hit their mark.
