Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

22oz bottle-A dark golden/light amber body with a small ring for a head and an aroma of yeast with some citrus in there as well. This brew starts off with the yeast and citrus(almost hefe like) then goes into more yeasty and slight alcohol along with some banana. An easy drinking Golden.

On tap at Vintage Estates, great place, thanks Ron, I mean Nuts. Starts off with a big and creamy alabaster head then the head fades to a steady quarter inch. Otherwise this stuff looks like ubiquitous pale yellow american beer. Below average carbonation initially on the tongue. Starts off pretty hoppy but that evolves into a more friendly fruity feel. Each sip after the other seems less bitter than the first. Tends to get better tasting and more enjoyable as the session continues. Must be that numbing effect of the alky content. Finish is quite alcoholic.

Rerate: Pours a clear orange with a small ivory head. Aroma is of orange, white bread, and honey. Flavor is very boozy for 9%. Booze is present throughout. Also manifest vague light fruits and nailpolish remover, witch hazel. Mouthfeel is watery, dead. This would’ve been more pleasant if the alcohol wasn’t so aggresive. Overall, good minus.

Pours a bright golden color with a fluffy cotton candy head. Sweet yeasty aroma of some citrus and candy with a dash of cinnamon and cardomon. The flavor is very fruity up front and spicy on the way down. A very solid American impersonation of a golden Belgian.

Tap @ TJ’s Paoli, PA. Amber with beige head that fell fairly quickly, minimum lace. Aroma was slight due to cold temp but as it warmed there was a very nice fresh, clean, malty, spicy flavor. Ample sweetness but it fit very well with the beer overall. Pleasant fruits, sweet spice ( I was getting a hint of pumpkin pie), and hop notes woven into the mix. Alcohol very well integrated. Well into medium bodied. I liked this brew and will seek not only it but all of Avery’s offerings.

The pour was golden and hazy, really quite pretty. The head was small, white and dissipated rather quickly. The smell was fairly faint, especially for the style, Belgian golden ale, but smelled of fruit, maybe apricots, and floral hops. The initial taste was very good, kind of sweet, but in a good way. The finish was also very good with a good hop bitterness. I didn’t get the Avery out of the fridge early enough so the beer was rather cold when I began. That may have muted the aroma and it certainly affected the taste. As the beer warmed to cellar temperature and beyond, hey it was 24 oz, the flavors really opened up. I got a bit of a smell of apple and the hops flavor was more present.

This brew pours nicely, not a lot of fizz but a nice white head and lingering lace. It’s a translucent golden color with a sweet and spicy aroma. Somewhat dry on the palate. It is spicy, sweet, fruity, with some peppery notes, especially at first sip. It definitely warms on the way down! It finishes nicely too, with some lingering, hoppy fruit and spice.
