Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Sampled from 22-oz bomber at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a semi-clear orange amber brew with an average off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind a spotty lacing and thin white ring. Aroma of light multi-grain malt, Belgian yeast, a touch of honey and some trace of apricots. Taste is medium bodied, well-carbonated with flavors of multi-grain malt, cotton candy, yeast and a touch of vanilla. Finish is spritzy with a touch of yeast and malt with a decent alcohol warmth after the finish.

Avery Salvation (22 oz. bottle) is one the few blonds I’d call gorgeous. (I’m more a fan of the darker beers and women.) Anyways, this beer has a suitable white head and a sweet, fragrant, slightly malty aroma. There are a lot of sweets going on with the taste--sweet malt, sweet wine, sweet ’n’ sour even--and a sort of syrupy thickness and a subdued spiciness. Was there something appley in there too? I also detected some weird metallic or gasoline hints alongside the hoppy bitterness of the finish. Nonetheless, Salvation is definitely one of my favorite Avery brews.

22oz bottle from Bevmo Carmel Mountain. Salvation poured a light sunset orange, head was fizzy, medium in size and off white. Aroma of citrus fruits and yeast. On the pallet it was somewhat sweet, light hop flavor. The finish was nice n’ tingly......lol

Bottle, at various locations during the Zythos weekend, March 2006. Gold, moderate white head and good condition. Big intense malty sweet perfumed honey notes tempered by chalky bitter yeast.

(Bottle) Pours a light amber color with little head, but champaign-like carbonation. Light fruit and yeast in the aroma. Taste included some sugary cotton candy notes, some vanilla, and a good amount of spice as well. Light hops as well. Good palate and fizzy mouthfeel. The alcohol is nicely masked within the beer.

Golden-brown colour. Fruity, chewy nose with light phenols. Hints of bubblegum on the palate, along with spicy notes and hints of yeast. Middlin.
