Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Bottle. Not bad. Good solid BSA, and lots of Avery character in it. Spicy, yeasty, slight breadiness, and chewier than I expected.

Bomba. Quite a fan of this label! Bready golden malt with strong, Duveleqsue yeast and a spicy (nutmeg and orange rind) smack in the face. Honey and Belgian candy sugar. Golden pour with nary a head. Taste is malty and spicy with noticeable but relatively well incorporated alcohol, overripe fruit on the rise but the yeast backs of significantly from expectations. Slightly woody and has a nice earthy, somewhat bitter note lurking. Very soft mouthfeel, teeth just sink right into it, and the body heft is somewhere around a fullish medium. Craftsmanship! Nice, pleasant, satisfying - really hit the spot today - but not world-burning.

bomber. head is slightly lacking, hue is a shimmering amber. aromas - peaches and apricots are dead-on. taste? grapefruit, heavy apricot, yet it leaves something to be desired. palate is spilt: front is hit with fruit and silky smoothness. back and mid are both empty.

Bottle as shown. Pours a orange golden color with a medium white head that dimishes quickly. Has a stong fruity aroma of tangerine and apples. Good lacing on this one. The taste is a sweet orange and citrus with a smooth finish that hides the alcohol well. A very impressive belgian strong ale from Avery.

Golden beer with a fine head. The aroma is sweet with apple, peach and light malt. The flavour is sweet and with a nice and complex estery profile. Loads of apples, apricot, hops alcohol and a nice bitter end. It’s a nice and complex beer. A little drier and I would go nuts!

nice color and aroma. head dies fairly quickly, but might have been glass problem. good stuff, agree with other reviews that noticed yeasty flavor and fruit/spice. feels slightly heavy in the mouth, but that’s not so bad.

Bottled. An orange gold coloured beer with a nice whitish head. The aroma is very yeasty. Perfumed orange and lemon hoppiness also. A little alcohol warmth also. The taste is very yeasty but also suprisingly sweet. Then some bitterness comes through. Alcohol also. Pretty damn complex but it’s questionable whether there’s too much going on. I think it’s actually intriguingly nice.

Bottle from Ledgers; Nose of light spices, a little fruitiness, yeast, and caramel; hazy dark gold with a small yellowish head; flavor has some pepperiness, caramel, fruitiness, and a little hops and alcohol in the finish.
