Gez (44), Ringgold, Georgia, USA Jul 1, 2007 Light clear golden yellow color. Thick white head. Mild spicy berry scent. Sweet syrupy taste of cinnamon and berries. Optigon (561), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Jun 29, 2007 Pours clear, yellow, with a light, frothy head. Strong hoppy, spicy aroma. Solid mouth feel with a major spice and hop profile. Somewhat of apricot and spice finish. padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Jun 26, 2007 Bottle purchased at Bev for less in Santee. I really think Avery does a nice job with all of thier brews. This one is no different. Nice frothy white head with a golden amber pour. Tastes of candied sugars, and spices. Very nice. charlotte (1997), Vanlřse, Denmark Jun 26, 2007 Light Amber colour with medium head.Flavor of peach and orange.Sweet and mild with a dry finish.Really good beer. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA Jun 25, 2007 The 22 ounce bottle poured a crystal clear, perfectly amber beverage with an ample white creamy head that was mostly lasting and left great lacing on the glass. The aroma was lightly sweet, fruity and spicy with notes of Belgian candy sugar, peach, orange peel and coriander all making their contributions to an overall beautiful bouquet. The body was medium-full with lively carbonation and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. The flavor starts out lightly sweet but is gradually replaced by a spicy, sourness at the finish. There is just a bit of alcohol warmth at the finish as well. wingman333 (233), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 25, 2007 Bomber...if a beer ever tasted like gin and tonic, this one is it...strong flavors of orange rind and lemon zest, with great bitterness on the aftertaste, like juniper berries. Average carbonation. Overall it succeeds at being light, which may please some, but I much preferred the Reverend by Avery over this selection. maltdog (509), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 16, 2007 A solid snowbank of foam is equal in depth to the dull gold liquid... this impressive head has a lifespan of double-digit minutes, and the resulting lace is as persistent and sticky as cotton candy. Bouquet is intensely floral and rife with tropical fruit: papaya, honeydew, pickly pear, and bubblegum wrapper... puntuated by spicy/earthy hops. Fruity and estery, barely sweet, with gingersnap spice and a massive dose of herbal-minty hop flavor more befitting of an imperial pilsner. Obvious yet smooth alcoholic taste. Off-dry finish has notes of iron and tannins. Fullish, almost syrupy and pillow-soft platate sports low carbonation and lazy steel wool bubbles. Candied plum and marigold aftertaste. Delicious beer, far closer to a tripel than anything else... could stand to be drier and more carbed. I found the flavor hops a trifle overdone and distracting. Derek881 (486), Frederick, Maryland, USA Jun 11, 2007 Poured from large bottle into a trappist glass. Aroma was good and diverse, with a yeasty nose. There were citrus and pine hops, caramel malt, and some sugary and candy notes; maybe some wheat notes too. The beer was a mostly cloudy, orange-amber color with a good shie. The head was bubbly and creamy, but had short retention. Taste was sweet and candy-like, with a subtle sour undertone, and a slightly bitter alcohol finish with a warming effect. It was wet and thin on the palate, a bit soft and oily, and had very mild carbonation. A bit dry at the end and some slight fizzyness. Solid beer overall, not bad for the reasonable price.
