Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

22 oz Bomber - Pours a nice golden / amber color with a medium, but quickly fading head. Wonderful fruity and floral aroma. Strong alcohol presence, but not overwelming. Overall, a quality Belgian Strong.

My friend Rob and I got together on 1/30/2007 for a "Salvation" tasting that included Avery Salvation, Russian River Salvation, and Avery (/Russian River) Collaboration Not Litigation. We really wanted to try all three of these beers together so that we could compare. Needless to say, this was a really nice tasting that really helped redeem us from the sins of drinking bad beer during the less fortunate times in the past. Avery Salavation was the first beer tasted...

Avery Salvation pours a vibrant, clear, coppery golden orange color with a large creamy beige/ivory head. The aroma and flavor have a large candy sweetness with some citrus-like and peach/apricot? fruitiness. There is also a distinct, yet hard to describe tanginess/spiciness/bitterness in this beer that acts as its signature quality. The body of this beer is medium-light and is highly carbonated, yet has a soft and non-fizzy feeling on the palate. Overall this is a respectable American Belgian Strong Ale widely available and a reasonable price. However, I kind of wish that Avery wouldn’t uber-filter their beers to that they can condition in the bottle a little bit and develop some additional complexities...

22 oz bottle shared by Rob. Thanks Rob. I really appreciate it!

pours a deep gold with minuim head.aroma of sweet malts, bubblegum, cloves and a very pleasnet floarl hop note, taste his creamy yet prickly strong malt backbone with various phenloic notes and a nice floaral hop note in the backround(just like the aroma)hides the alcohol well.little too no lacing and a light too medium body.overall pretty good not as complex as I would like a belgian style too be but still good.

22oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a thin head that rapidly retreats to a a spotty head that fades to almost nothing. The subsequent lacing is tattered and sparce. Smell; bananas and cloves are dominant, but I also detect a little citrus and yeast as well. There’s also some spices that are a bit hard to pick out, but they are there. Overall a little weaker than I would have liked in the aroma department. Taste; the flavor carries through more so than the aroma did. This is definitely fruity, with bananas, lemons and apricots. This has a very sweet honey like quality that’s balanced a bit by some peppery spiciness, with a prominant alcohol presence. Unfortunately this became pretty harsh after it warmed up, and became quite a bit harder to drink. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a drinkability that takes a hit due to a high alcohol content and a sweetness that becomes a little cloying after a while.

Pours a clear and bright copper orange, topped by a good inch of off white foam. Decent head retention, good lacing. Strong dry malt aroma with some orange and a hint of tea. Quite sweet flavor, again with some orange and stronger tea. Candi sugar and coriander and just a hint of bubblegum into the finish. Alcohol, coriander, clove, green hops, and bitter orange in the aftertaste. Medium to full body, softly carbonated, quite smooth sipper.

This beer pours a golden amber with no head. on the nose I am getting bread and malt. This beer is very typical of the style of a belgian ale. Not a very bad beer at all... Cheers!

Pours hazy medium orange with a small frothy white head. Aroma is complex, malty; cookies, hoppy: pine and oranges, Yeasty: bubblegum. Flavor is close to perfectly balanced with an average duration finish. Light to medium bodied, a bit oily and lively carbonated. Excelent!
