Hits of nutmeg and fruit. The flavor of liquorish root, (thanks Pete) parsnips, and potato skins fill the palate. Not overly Belgian but I really enjoy the uniqueness of this beer. I expected more hops but they present themselves in a balanced and subtle way. SSSteve (2062), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

By all looks deceiveing, this orange hued beast slides down the throat, like a drunkard on a steep slope. Not quite Belgian, but not to be missed. anders37 (4613), Malmö, Sweden

Aroma is lemony, almost like hot tea with a lemon inside it. Flavor is like lemon iced tea. A slight cinnamon and nutmeg flavor is also found in this one. Not bad, but not great either. Spicy peach, apricot and some cinamon, with a soft hop presence. Mouthfeel wasn’t terrible great, although nice. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 19, 2006 Bottle. Cloudy dark orange color with small soapy white head. Aroma is sweet with fruity hops. Taste is pretty powerful. I thought the alcohol bite was a bit strong, but as it warmed I liked it more and more. It has an excellent taste/mouthfeel of over-ripe fruit. Very juicy. There is also plenty of spice (coriander, pepper). The finish is alcohol and hops. Certainly lives up to it’s "big beer" designation.
