drjay44 (757), Salida, Colorado, USA Jul 4, 2005 Another tasting at the Salida brewers gathering. All beers are out of small kegs. Hold the glass up to the light, hang out in the park with your friends, and enjoy brews as they should be taken. This is a lovely creation, light, with high alcohol nicely hidden. It had a big head. Was the last reviewer unfortunate enough to have had it from a bottle?? Even my wife said it tasted GOOD!! Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 1, 2005 Beautiful orange color but zero head is a big disappointment. Taste is somewhat sour & soapy. A tad bitter too as it warms up. Quite strong. Decent but there’s better out there. Most likely I’ll never drink this again. Just found it sort of boring. MayorQuimby (100), Santa Barbara, California, USA Jun 19, 2005 Bottle. Pours a golden color, frothy white head, transparent with lots of rising tiny bubbles, not much lacing. Aroma is fairly tame, yeasty, spicy, fruity, I definitely smell peaches, nutmeg, and some other phenolics. Flavor is dominated by a light fruitiness, apricots and peaches definetly dominate, a hint of a belgian yeast, a touch of spiciness as it finishes. Fairly light body, appropriate for a golden ale like this, some bubbly carbonation, soft in the mouth. All in all, a fine beer, I really enjoyed how the fruity flavors played off of the yeast while remaining delicate in the mouth. pobenohne (504), Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 18, 2005 Big bottle. Pale colored ale, thin head, fruity aroma. On tasting the "bubblegum" was most prominent. Read about this before, now it is good to have had the experience. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA Jun 16, 2005 pours out golden yellow. sweet smelling and tasting with a slight hint of alcohol present. fruity, and fairly complex with hints of apricot, and a slight spiciness. a damn good beer that goes down pretty easily. certainly one of avery’s better beers. madsberg (4873), Søborg, Denmark Jun 10, 2005 Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Off white dense medium sized head. Sweet, fruity, light alchol and fruit in the aroma. Flavour is smooth. Sweetness, fruit, hops and a light citric touch. Is nicely sweet and hoppy in the end. Medium bodied and quite a treat. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 8, 2005 A hazy orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is very sweet with primary notes of peach and hops, but also hint so the alcohol, that gives it a small stint of metal. The flavor is quite powerful - the alchol makes it mark with a good body on which is a nice fruityness with peach and an overripe flavor dominates. The flavor also contains hints of coriander, and in the end the hops makes it self known, though only subtlely, but enough to give it a slight bitterness. A nice American brewed Belgian Strong Ale. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark Jun 7, 2005 Hazy orange coloured. Yeasty and fruity aroma. Sweet and yeasty flavour with notes of peaches and other fruits.
