Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Aroma was mainly of alcohol. Cloudy darker orange with an average head. Had some lacing. Spicy fruit flavor and a little heavy on the palate, good beer.

Beer 41. A little cloudy, but pretty normal per the style. Spicy, but not really that complex, I could drink quite a bit of this.

Very attractive beer: deep gold-orange with a large head initially reducing to a lather head. Orangy fruit nose with some yeast and grain. Thinner malt-front than expected, but it bursts quickly into a spicy zing: cloves and cinnamon, maybe pepper. Some citrus tone. Good balance.

Sample at DougShoemaker’s 2005 December gathering - not sure who brought the bottle. Golden-orange with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, but with some juicy hop notes as well. Flavour is quite agressive, but well balanced, with sweet malts and citric hops playing off each other nicely. Impressive stuff.

22oz bottle pours amber with a short offwhite head. Aromas of yeast, alcohol, a touch of spice and some apricot/peach. Flavor is many of those same notes. Lots of yeast, lots of peachy fruits and some slight spice with alcohol warmth at the finish. Fair carbonation with a fizzy mouthfeel and a somewhat dry finish. Pretty easy drinking though honestly. Not a bad brew..

A hazy golden brew, that is quite carbonated. Crowned by a cream colored head. Smells of alcohols and esters. A sharp aroma mixed with a musty fruity character. Soft tasting, fairly mellow compared to what I was expecting from the aroma. A bit of alcohol in the finish is detectable, along with a slight mustiness as well. The beer is fruity with notes of apple, maybe a hint of apricot. There is a bit of a sharp edge here too, a combination of the carbonation and fermentation byproducts. This is pretty good stuff, though it is a bit on the thick-bodied side of things.

This one has several different flavors pounding on your tongue: sweet, bitter, fruity, and spicy. All combine in the finish to give you a warm feeling and enough CO2 to give you a good ol’ belch.
