Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Bottle @ Kookfest. Sweet spicy hot alcohol. Not much else to comment on. Not entirely unpleasant but not drinkable. No finesse.

Gold Coloring with White Head. Fruity and a Distinct Pepper Aroma. Strong Hops, Belgian Spice Notes...Peppery, With a Warming to Back the Bigger Beer Reputation. Nothing Uniquely Characteristic About Salvation, but a Solid Big Brew Done Quite Well.

Hazy orange, little creamy headm leaving laces, medium carbonation. Orange and peach nose - with medium hops and hay undertones. Light hops and peach taste, short duration, silky but thin finish.

Beautiful clear true amber body that catches the light wonderfully and seems to actively glow. The head is smaller and fades more quickly than I’d like considering the style, but I can’t take off too much for that. Very ripe stone fruit and clove in the aroma. The flavor is dry one sip and sweet the next with a bit of caramel and a bit of dry hay in the malt. The heat of the alcohol is felt, but it doesn’t overpower the rest of the beer. Every once in a while I get a wish of sour dishrag, but it’s not strong and not always there.

Golden/orange - clear. poured with little head then nothing. Fruity/flower aroma. The first sip was alcohol/yeasty/sugar/hops - a blast of every great flavor at once. second sip - alc and sugar. Medium/thin body - full yet not heavy. My face warms. I’m drinking this a bit cold - the flavors are confounding my tongue - complexity. The sips begin to alternate - yeast/hop then I notice a wee little bit of prickly carbonation, then hops/alc followed by some sweetness and more warmth. I thought this was bottle conditioned, but it remains very clear in my glass. Things get a bit intense as it warms, I think colder is better on this one (for my tastes, at least). Nirvana.

Bottle courtesy of Daalamar: Poured a clean dark golden color ale with a small foamy head with little retention. Aroma of candi sugar is a bit overpowering and doesn’t allow for much else. Taste is very sweet with very little yeast or spices characteristics. Alcohol is pretty subdued but a bit too one-dimensional and boring in my own opinion.

650 mL bottle. Hazy golden yellow with small foamy white head. Fruity aroma with notes of spice. Taste of tropical fruit, honey, and candy sweetness with a clean finish.
