Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

22oz Bomber - Gravity Room - Olympia, WA
Aroma – Malty Belgian flavor. Had some great spices and a high alcohol smell.
Appearance – Dark brown color, Clear with a thin head.
Flavor – The Belgian yeast flavor starts off then it goes malty with some fruity.
Palate – Good Belgian flavors this was not my style of beer.
Overall – This was a Belgian ale. Had a strong aftertaste with some fruity essence. Liked the beer but it is not my style.

22oz with the new "A" on label (probably a 1-3 months old). perhaps one of my favorite labels. Pours a semi hazy pale color with big head. aroma has some nice citrus and belgian yeast aroma. fizzy and over carbinated. flavor is sweet, citrus, very bananay, and crisp. leaves an alcohol burn. i admit this beer is refreshing at first, but the flavors became annoying half way through the bomber.

Poured clear golden with thin but lasting white head...smells very citrusy, definate apricot and pear...also spicy, cloves etc. along with alcohol...very thin bodied...not impressive...difficult to define the palate...I agree with Lumpy...definately something perfumey about it...finish bitter and alcohol...

My friend Rob and I got together on 1/30/2007 for a "Salvation" tasting that included Avery Salvation, Russian River Salvation, and Avery (/Russian River) Collaboration Not Litigation. We really wanted to try all three of these beers together so that we could compare. Needless to say, this was a really nice tasting that really helped redeem us from the sins of drinking bad beer during the less fortunate times in the past. Avery Salavation was the first beer tasted...

Avery Salvation pours a vibrant, clear, coppery golden orange color with a large creamy beige/ivory head. The aroma and flavor have a large candy sweetness with some citrus-like and peach/apricot? fruitiness. There is also a distinct, yet hard to describe tanginess/spiciness/bitterness in this beer that acts as its signature quality. The body of this beer is medium-light and is highly carbonated, yet has a soft and non-fizzy feeling on the palate. Overall this is a respectable American Belgian Strong Ale widely available and a reasonable price. However, I kind of wish that Avery wouldn’t uber-filter their beers to that they can condition in the bottle a little bit and develop some additional complexities...

22 oz bottle shared by Rob. Thanks Rob. I really appreciate it!

Draught somewhere in Chicago: This is a nice refreshing beer. Lambic/champagne finish and very fruity. A pleasure to drink in the hot humid Chicago summer weather.

Bottle. A misty golden color with a laced white head. A candy spiced apple aroma. Dry and spiced palate that was slightly harsh at the start. Bubblegum, honey, and a light fruit flavors.

Nice, peachy, deep golden hue, ample, creamy white foam sitting on top. Big sweetness in the nose, a little sour, too, but full of citric flavors, lemon, orange, apricot, very spicy and spritzy as well, almost too candy-ish in the sweet factor, though. Taste...a bit sticky on the palate, big, bold peppery flavor, a bit too much so...rather brisk, with a sourness sticking near the sweet...an oddly cloying mouthfeel, laying thick on the tongue and lasting long in the mouth. This dies off a bit, and it’s a bit easier to take, later on...now, the sweetness is subdued, relaxed, less obnoxious...still, not a spot-on tripel like we’d like...hard to peg this attempt at a tripel, as it doesn’t quite nail it, but you’ve got to like it for trying, at least. Gorgeous bottle, though...
