| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2003 Pretty sweet, but not nearly as I might have supposed. I think this beer is this good because of the amalgam of Styrian Goldings (imparting an Englishy or Germanic quality) and candi sugar. Quite good. Great body. Alcohol gets stronger upon warming, as you might suppose. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 12, 2004 Bottle. Gold/orange body. Nose is floral. Taste is bitter, spcy, sweet, and floral. Notes of anise, clove, apple, and bitter hops come out. There is a bit of a perfume quality to this that I don’t care for. The finish is warm and has notes of black pepper, alcohol, and citrus. As this beer warms, it loses the aforementioned perfume taste and the flavors begin to come together nicely. When you drink this one, drink a little bit of it cold and then drink the rest at slightly above room temperature. They are two diffrent beers. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 4, 2004 Rich golden orange body with a fading white head. Essence of flowers, fruit, honey. Complex blend of fruit and spice in the taste. Good stuff. JCB (1799), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2007 Been a while since I’ve had this one, and I recall it being imbalanced and trending towards cloying malt sweetness. Thankfully, this bottle is quite different and combines a very lively champagne fizz with the dry quality of a fine blond and the fruits of a tripel. Nicely hopped to boot and with a substantial body. A good one. Palidor19 (1798), Brandon, Florida, USA
