| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2005 I was little afraid of this one because you know it’s gonna be boozy, it’s just a matter of how boozy it’ll be. mds said the bottle was at least a year old so that’s was a decent sign. Golden in color, slight haze, firm white head, lots of lace. Fruity aroma, some Belgian yeastiness, light spice. Yeasty flavor, fruity again, very light alcohol. Fuller bodied, ther alcohol was hardly detectable. Oh my goodness, a big beer by Avery that didn’t taste like fire water! It was pretty good, too. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

Golden colored body with a small white head. Sweet flavor, yeasty, notes of bubblegum, light dryness in the end. Has a quite warming sensation from the alcohol. KyotoLefty (1465), Kyoto, Japan
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Deep honey golden color was quite enticing. Rich citrus and honey aroma, with sweet golden malts. Very fruity. Slightly oxidized, I think, but flavors of honey, tingly, piney, citrus hops. Has big sweetness but is well balanced, with alcohol and a bit of tartness. Smooth and full, yet rather crisp. One of the more successful American made Belgian styles I’ve tried lately. dchmela (1458), Orlando, Florida, USA

Aroma is citrusy orange hops with a little malty sweetness. Not your typical belgian maltiness, but very nice and balanced by a lot of spicy citrus hops. Solid version of a belgian strong. Sweet, fruity aroma of tart apples, oranges, yeasty bread, honey, whole grains, light hops and a touch of alcohol. The body is moderately full and fairly sticky. Nice flavors when drinking. Good fruit and nice honey/sugar sweetness. The finish is quite bitter and more than I would have expected. A flavorful Belgian with good fruits, but a,F€‘
