Toast grain/light bread malt (L); perfume and flower hops (M); doughy yesat (L); nutmeg aroma. Clear golden-peach body has a large, creamy white head that is slowly diminishing. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic flavor becomes a moderately bitter, lightly sweet, lightly acidic finish. Medium-heavy body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: fourth bottle of Avery in a row that has wowed me. JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Aroma of sweet malts and alcohol.
Flavor is overly sweet with a lot of alcohol at the finish...to sweet for my taste. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2008 Poured a nice orange golden hue with a white head which had great retention and lacing. Aroma was bread-like and sweet with sugar like notes. Flavor was mild but still good. Sweet sugar notes, some fruit, and hints of alcohol. A delicate finish. Beautiful orange color with white lacing; looks like a California IPA. Really strong with alcohol well hidden; make that an Imperial IPA like Dogfish Head 90 minute. But wait a minute; the citrus is getting overwritten with apricot and clove and well, maybe bread and yeast? Sort of mid way between a Belgian and an IPA. Would love to know what kind of hops they used. waolsen (1223), Littleton, Colorado, USA

Had a little side-by-side tasting. Poured kind of flat at first but coaxed a nice head after refilling my glass. Lovely golden color. Quite clear. Lovely fruit (orange, orange peel and peach) aroma, along with strong spice on the nose. None of the doughy/floury/yeasty notes of some true Belgians, but the fruit and spice on this one are quite nice. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
