Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Aroma of sour apple, yeast, and spice. Brass colored pour with a fluffy white head and ample carbonation. Flavor exhibits orange peel, white pepper, and honey. The alcohol is present but not distracting. A bit above average.

Pours out a copper tinged amber color with little to no head. The aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor was not anything to write home about, but stil was not bad. Notes of apples, yeast and some sweet alcohol on the finish.

Orange/light amber pour. Thin, light ringlets of lacing. White head is quickly diminishing, though not fully so. Aroma is of candy sugar, lightly toasted malts, flaked citrus rinds, yeast and slight tartness. Flavor is dusty and grainy, showcasing more lightly toasted malts and sugars throughout. Finishes semi-dry, with subtle lingering dark fruits and citrus oils. Palate is medium-light to medium-full, quite sticky. Draft and bottle samples, very tasty when fresh. Of this offering, the Russian River brew with the same name, and Collaboration Not Litigation, all tasted side-by-side, this one wins out as the most refreshing and my favorite of the three.

Floral smell, sweet and citrusy. Color is orange with a little lace of head. Flavor is indeed delightful. Bananna, yeast, and some general citrus flavors.

Bomber. Pours cloudy hazy orange/gold nice head atop. Mandarin lemon and alcohol in the nose. Full bodied with progressive spice, coriander, mandarin, and alcohol mouth. Has some abbey characteristics. Leaves a spicy hoppy yeast taste in the long finish.

22oz bottle, served at 51.5° in my NB worthy glass. Pours light gold with a small, off white head. The aroma is excellent, comprised of orange, apricot, and perfume with a touch of spice. The taste is sweet malt with a pear, apricot, and orange juice taste that dries off into a more orange peel taste when the hops and alcohol come through. There is a slight sense of the alcohol at the end, but it is not sensed at all before the slight burn in the throat, the beer doesn’t taste alcoholic.

Bottle: Deep gold w/ a thin, short lived white head. Grainy malt, clove; fruity esters consist of peach and lemon citrus, along with candy sugar. Also lightly solventy. Balanced to just bitter w/ a citrus hop flavor in the finish and aftertaste. Hints of clove spicy yeast and bready malt, but are overshadowed by the hops. Aftertaste is more hoppy the more you drink. Some light fruity esters as well, but overall one dimensional. Med. carbonation, lighter full m/f, lightly dry. Alc. is well hidden. I expected more from this beer. I had it a couple of years ago and was disappointed, and I’m still to this day. The flavor just doesn’t deliver what the nose promises IMHO.
