Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

This should be so much better than it is. This is a great brewery and a really fun style, but this doesn't come together. Ultra sweet, barleywine like character without complexity. Ham handed and disappointing.

bottle poured a cloudy amber in color with a big head that almost continued to grow from the carbination. smells of fruits, yeasts, spice, and some hops. taste is as the smell would let you think, good body with a full and somewhat creamy texture, good hops for the beer, spices, and some good fruits. good beer and masks the 9% rather well.

Thin head retention. Heavy golden color with amber accents. Complex fruity aroma with alchohol notes. The alchohol content belies a suprisingly medium body. Candi sugar sweetness blends well with hop spiciness and alchohol warmth. Very American take on this Belgian style. Intersting to see a "light" beer from Avery :)

Thick golden Belgian style ale. Looks good, and has a very nice color. Candy sugar taste, sort of like The Reverend Lite.

Pours a clear and bright copper orange, topped by a good inch of off white foam. Decent head retention, good lacing. Strong dry malt aroma with some orange and a hint of tea. Quite sweet flavor, again with some orange and stronger tea. Candi sugar and coriander and just a hint of bubblegum into the finish. Alcohol, coriander, clove, green hops, and bitter orange in the aftertaste. Medium to full body, softly carbonated, quite smooth sipper.

draft. A very good brew. Like a combo of a Belgian pale ale and a tripel. Alcohol+malt+hoppy spicey= good.
