Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Poured a peachy, orange color with a thin whispy white head. More hop fragrance than I imagined, slightly piney but also contains grainy, yeasty and a sweet, candy aroma like bubblegum. Initial flavor is sweet and candy like, but the finish brings a strange flavor of medicine. I was disappointed in the flavor and the finish.

Light grain aroma. Clear golden color with a large white head and fizzy. Starts sweet and bitter with the alcohol noticeable.

Pours golden yellow with off white head. Fruity aroma as well as yeast. Flavor is slightly sweet with alcohol definately present. Medium body with average cabonation. Finishes dry and leaves an aftertaste almost like a lager. Probably won’t have this again.

floral yeasty aroma, cloudy and beautiful, alcohol then sweet and syrupy that meld into high pitched hops and a soft bitter palate

Pours a golden color with light particles floating about. The head is off white and thin, and to top it off, it fades quickly. Aroma is belgian sugar, banana, nutmeg, clove, and alcohol. Taste is banana, nutmeg, clove, light funky yeast, Belgian suger and light peach. Palate is slightly alcoholic but not too abrasive. Overall, it’s a pretty damn good BSA.

One of my favorite brews from Avery. A great strong ale that is full of excellent malts and spices!

Bottle pours a crystal copper color with a small head and little lace. The aroma is very yeasty, with hints of apricot. The flavor is mostly bread like, some apricot notes, and rather dry with some faint hop bitterness. In addition, I'm not sure if this is hop related, but there is a lingering tobacco flavor that distracts. The palate is decent. Overall, a fairly average effort.

5.24.05 First beer of my birthday. Whole bottle straigh to the head...setting the tone for things to come. Really nice belgian ale. Fruity aromas and flavors, a little sharp though , alcohol noticeable but nothing 6 months in the cellar couldn’t fix. Overall very good
