Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Pale golden beer. Light Belgiany phenolics in the nose with some clove and peach. Flavour is very oaky with yeasty spice over light peach/apricot esters. Honeyish maltiness. Vanilla and oakiness with some soft resinousness in back. Well balanced and tasty.

Very floral aroma, nice and estery, with cherries and spearmint aromas. Clear clean gold appearance. The flavor is at first vbery pleasent, and is very calm. It turns to very strong alcohol, acidic flavors. The finish is very smooth and fresh, with minimal bitter bite.

Bottle, 22oz. A hazy, orange beer with some microfloaties and a small, off-white head. Sweet, syrupy nose, a bit herbal, with peaches in the background. Sugary sweet flavor with a good dash of fruits, some herbal notes and an evident but pleasant alcohol warmth. Full-bodied, sweetish mouthfeel. Lasting finish with sweetness, fruits, some herbs and alcohol. A quite pleasant beer, not impressing, easy drinkable but maybe a bit on the sweet side. (090213)

This pours a rich, golden amber body, moderately carbonated, with a decent, bubbly white head. The nose is full of fruit (peach, cherry) and alcohol... very perfumey. The flavor is likewise fruity, mainly peach, other light fruits, perhaps. There’s lots of spiciness and alcohol in the taste as well. Having a sweet alcohol finish, this a decent, not great, ale.

Dark hazed golden liquid with a creamy looking head. The head does fade rather quickly but does leave a lot of lace. Light vegetable, honey, floral hops, mild pine and malt invade the nose. Malt sweetness starts at the top and lead to some flavor hops (a bit to the floral side). Remains quite sweet all the way through. Somewhat citrusy toward the end and the alcohol is not shy. Does not seem to have some of the yeast characteristics and hits me a bit like the modern Imp. IPA or some barley wines. I like it but ot as complex as I would like this style.

Bottled, UDRBG. Aroma is nice, herbal, floral and fruity apple. Hazy, yellow color white head, good lace. So far so good. But then the flavor. Overwhelming sweet, honey and fruity, very malty, bitter finish, sticky. I’m sure there’s more in this beer but the sweetness hides it all.

Lightly hazy golden blond color with lots of carbonation and creamy thick head. Lacing is full and complete. The aroma is very earthy and spicy with some notes of yeast and a little hops. The flavor has a moderate alcohol feel along with a good malty yeast body. Some more spices are apparent in the flavor and it has that dry cinnamon feel, earthy. The finish is lightly hoppy, semisweet, dry. This is a unique BSA but it’s not too bad.

Bottle at Kookfest, September 2006. Orange/gold colour. Perfumed, cosmetic aroma. Spicy notes on the palate, with orange peel/tangerine putting in an appearance. Plenty of underpinning hops but I found them rather harsh and clashing with, rather than complementing, the other elements. Distinctly sweet and with an alcohol burn on the finish. I wouldn’t call this a bad beer but I didn’t really feel all the elements were perfectly integrated. I didn’t find too much finesse here. I was expecting more of this beer.
