Fair display of lacework. Aroma was a lovely mix of malty sweetness and light hoppy feel. Notes of caramel, fruit / peach, light floral notes, maybe hint of underlying liquorish. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and light dry and at the same time light thick texture. Well balanced between the moderated sweet malty base flavor and the floral hoppyness. Light dry and what I thought was lingering fruity sweet finish. Really well brewed I thought. Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Draft glass at the brewery tasting room. Bright golden and politely active. Could mistake it for Coors or something at first glance. But then you start drinking ... thick with esthery flavors and a definite alcohol kick. Easily drinkable big beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2008 (Bottled, 0.65l) Hazy golden-amber with a small, lacy head. Aroma of grainy, sweetish malt, spices, yeast and berries. Sweet and cinnamon-spicy, grainy-malty flavor with berry hints and yeast. Without yeast the flavor is slightly rough with ashy hints, and a touch of alcohol. Medium to full body with soft carbonation. A bit too sweet and grainy, although better with yeast. The label is probably the most beautiful ever seen in a beer bottle, but the contents are merely average for a Belgian Strong ale. joss (3671), Garching b. München, Germany

Pours golden color with a sweet malty peachy/pear aroma. Good spiciness is well detectable throughout this offering. One of my favorites from avery. egajdzis (3626), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
