Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Brown pour. Off white head. Honey, agave nectar, oranges, caramel and hops. Flavor is sweet but has a good hop backbone to back it up. I liked this a lot.

Smells more like a malty american strong ale(nice hops and there is that strange Avery smokiness, teriaki?) w/ some definite Belgian characteristics/sense some alcohol at first whiff.Very malty nose(sweet and citrusy)Very nice hazy caramel/honey color.Pours w/ a nice short head w/ plenty of lavish lace.Taste is malty/sweet/hoppy/citrus.Smooth drinking ale.I do like my "belgians" w/ more yeast(it' only natural)though there was some sticky lookin' stuff at the bottom of this 22oz.This one sat for almost two years.Ages well as I just finished my last bottle almost three years old and enjoyed it the most.

Bottle: Amber color with some nice ruby highlights. Has a small white head that quickly fades to a ring. Aroma: honey, lemon, hops, lemon, nutmeg, apricot, peach, red clover, sweet malts. Taste: Light citrus & spices to begin with, sugary, clover, grapefruit, candy, yeast, and a bit of grass and orange. Medium bodied. Tasty, though does die out in the finish.

Clear golden body with a minimal white head. The aroma is sweet honey and yeast. The flavor is quite fruity and complex. The lingering aftertaste is that of honey dipped peaches. Full body with a lively carbonation. Pretty good stuff.

~Pours a beautiful see through hazy orange-gold color. Small head quickly diminishes. ~Sweet aroma of light fruits, caramel, and spices. ~A sweet and spicy taste. fruits and alcohol present. ~A light tingly feel from alcohol on tongue. Body is thin and finish is long lasting and sweet. ~This is a good brew. It’s a bit sweet for my taste, but still easy to drink and enjoyable. A good choice for my 200th rating.

Sampled from bottle: pours a vibrant, translucent golden-orange colour with a small white head. Lacing left behind is scattered, but noticeable. Based on my stuffed up nose, the aroma is of bananna, honey and ripe mangoe. Taste is sweet, bubbly with plenty of tropical fruits. Pineapple and lime. Finishes very nicely.

Definitely one of the better beers from Avery. I really enjoy the yeastiness that blends in so well with the lighter fruits flavors, this has a wonderful mouthfeel, with just enough carbonation. Almost has a marmalade, jamminess with a bit of spritz in the finish, well balanced, and delicious.

22oz. Bottle: Sweet aroma is very complex. Notes of fruit, blueberry, bubblegum, peach, yeast, and nutmeg. Poured golden in color with a big, creamy, off-white/light yellow head that lasted throughout. Very good lacing. Clear and lightly sparkling. Flavor is heavily sweet and lightly sour but not bitter. Tastes heavily of nutmeg and cinnamon. Also hints of coriander and tart cherry. Medium to full body. Flat to soft carbonation. Finish is long and tart/sour. Finish almost makes you pucker your lips. Overall, interesting. I liked it better than I thought I might
