Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

22 oz bomber. Pours a light copper with very active carbonation and an off white semi-thick head that leaves clean lacing behind. The nose is full of fruit, smoke, alcohol, and an earthy grain. The taste starts with an apple/apricot fruit combo with a background of hoppy kicks throughout the flavor through to the malty sweet yet earthy finish. There is a very spicy quality to this brew, which offers an unusual balance to the hops. The palate is thin and bubbly, leaving a slightly dry mouth. Although the bubbly feel and these types of hops aren’t my favorite qualities in beers, this beer is complex and interesting, with many fruity hues throughout the temperature changes.

pours a murky golden color. smell is unusually hoppy for this style of beer. medium carbonation taste is more tradioitonal belgian style. but the hops really accent this beer nicely. pretty tasty brew here.

22 oz bomber. Light golden brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel and yeast. Taste of Belgian yeast, caramel, malt and brown sugar. Nice slightly sweet though somewhat thin finish.

Very good, but did not taste as strong as it was. Very fruity and light bodied. Lightly sweet with apricot and pears primarily. Mild yeast and spice. No alcohol. Small head and light carbonation. Fairly mild for the style, but super drinkable. Well balanced and not too sweet.

Rated 5/11/07: Good effort by Avery on this Golden Belgian Ale. Very aromatic with a thick malt nose along with honey, vanilla, banana, and a profound hop bitterness. Tip-top pour providing a rich golden yellow-orange hue with strong carbonation. A 2" thick head was instantly produced and only dwindled down a little bit leaving a full blanket of white lacing around the glass. Medium to heavy body, it’s borderline thick but drinks rather easily. The finish is slightly tacky which does detract from an overall solid mouthfeel. Flavor is warm and easy, not as rich as the aroma which seems odd. Heavy on the malt with a good familiar Belgian earthiness from the yeast. Mild fruits and clove are encountered along with a strong hop flavor. Peppery and mildly bitter. Very good but not quite great, I did enjoy the entire bottle.

Bomber. Pours dark golden with a nice rocky white head. Great aroma of yeast, spice, fruit, and hops. Taste is smooth and creamy with a slightly bitter, hoppy bite to it. Nice.

Bottle. Light fruity aromas of peach orange, clove with grain and flowers mixed in. It has a smallish white head which just about diminished each time the glass sat. It’s color is an almost clear, gold hue. Taste is refreshing in that it almost has an "ade" quality to it. Acidic and salty to start, and acidy and bitter in the finish. Light to medium on the palate, dry/watery in texture and lively carbonated.

650 ml bottle. Spicy peach nose with a golden amber presence. Big body with complex peach and spice tones. Slightly hoppier than expected.
