Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Almost a smokey inital aroma and malt flavor, although it may be better described as peppery or spicy... turns straight to the candy/sugar aftertaste expected from beers from this brewery...I was actually quite impressed by its innovation, I have never tasted a beer this color (golden, little head) so smokey, spicy, and sharp. It is a shame the candy flavor has to creep in at the end as it warms, otherwise the most complex and best beer from this brewery. Unfortunately , WAY too sweet in the finish.

Gold metallic color; No head; WONDERFUL floral nose unlike any I have smelled in this style. Nice dry alcohol to start. Minimal spice- becomes quite cloying at the halfway mark. Sweetness is about to do itself in.

Apricot colored brew with a huge densely packed head of white bubbles. Nose is yeasty with drunken fruity notes. Flavor is reminiscent of fruit such as peaches and apricots that have been soaking in grain alcohol. The prominent alcohol is certainly distracting.Medium full body with a pleasant creaminess. Finishes with a lingering sweetness.

Dark hazed golden liquid with a creamy looking head. The head does fade rather quickly but does leave a lot of lace. Light vegetable, honey, floral hops, mild pine and malt invade the nose. Malt sweetness starts at the top and lead to some flavor hops (a bit to the floral side). Remains quite sweet all the way through. Somewhat citrusy toward the end and the alcohol is not shy. Does not seem to have some of the yeast characteristics and hits me a bit like the modern Imp. IPA or some barley wines. I like it but ot as complex as I would like this style.

Nice brew with nutty hints, nice burly head, and burnt finish. I liked it alot, but I think it would be better in the winter months.

More garlic dinner smells. Rating below mentions soy, i agree. First sip took me off guard as i didnt know it was 9%. Several herb flavors and bitterness in the body, but more subdued than the Reverend. Some wine like flavors and characteristics come through: vinous, alcohol burn. Light fruit flavors in the finish.

Bottle @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Unclear light amber orange color with a small fizzy fair lacing mostly diminishing off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hoppy and yeasty, sweetness, peach, apricot. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic.
