Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Bottle with Butters and sixfootsix. Pours an off-white lacing head with a golden body that has a hint of amber to it. Smells of yeast and sweet fruit. Flavor is yeast, bread, and apricot. Finish is sweet and somewhat long. Overall a tasty brew.

Great flavor bomb -- nutty and some spice, citrusy, a little bit of sweet fruit with some semi-funky yeast going on. This is a really nice offering from Avery and certainly a nice addition to Hog Heaven and the Reverend.

Semi-hazed orange pour with a foamy white head that lingers for a while. Aroma is honey, peach, caramel, spice, and berry. Rich caramel texture and a good roast finish. Good hop bitterness but also tastes like a traditional belgian.

Slightly hazy golden-yellow pour with a nice two-finger white head, good retention and decorative Belgian lace. Sweet fruity aroma consisting of peach and apple, a touch of cinnamon, slight floral hop presence, mild spice. Flavor starts off with carbonation and fruity sweetness that leads to a dry and moderately bitter finish. Medium body, moderate-high carbonation and minimal alcohol warmth. 9% is well hidden. A good beer.

Bomber. This beer reminded my a lot of New Belgium’s trippel and it made me hard not to think that. True to the light Belgian style ale with the alcohol not very noticeable. Banana and yeasty notes complimented with a little bit of hops. I guess I was expecting more or maybe I am not very fond of the style.

Pours golden hazy, beige head. Aroma, candi sugar and yeasty. Taste, malty, thick grainy notes and lots of alcohol with sweet honey. Some fruits (citrus). Overall sweet with a medium body and thick mouthfeel. Leaves a light apple/cider taste.

Bottle. Pours clear golden, with a thick, puffy, white head, good lacing. Smells of apple, fig, and hay. Medium-thick body. Lots of sweet malt, mild fruitiness, caramel flavors, and a slightly mineral edge. Slight bitter taste of hay and citrus at the end balances out the sweetness.

Aged bottle. Hazy apricot color with a tiny head that fizzled out rather quickly. The nose is fruity and inviting. Peach, apricot, candied sugar, dark fruit, spices, clove, some yeast and banana are all present. The flavor is absolutely wonderful. It’s just as complex as the aroma. Sweet and fruity at first, with spices and slight hops at the end, remains sweet thought. Medium bodied with some light tingling carbonation. The alcohol is also less noticeable than I had expected.
