Golden in color, slight haze, firm white head, lots of lace. Fruity aroma, some Belgian yeastiness, light spice. Yeasty flavor, fruity again, very light alcohol. Fuller bodied, ther alcohol was hardly detectable. Oh my goodness, a big beer by Avery that didn’t taste like fire water! It was pretty good, too. Defreni (1003), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Fin krydret smag men ville være langt bedre med bare en anelse karbonering. Må være blevet opbevaret skidt, men stadig en god øl. robforbes (1094), Bremerton, Washington, USA

Light malty sweetness is balanced by a latent and bittering hop touch towards the back with a subtle hint of spice. Nice brew Slipstream (757), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2008 This clearly wins for most intricate and colorful label I have seen. And its not the only good label Avery has come up with. There are some interesting comments on salvation thru brewing as well. Tan gold pour with moderate head. Fairly sweet honey and malt aroma plus a good amount of yeast. A robust and flavorful golden ale. The taste is hoppy, fresh, and well bittered. Not much spice or citrus notes. The 9 percent ABV is not really noticeable. Pretty straitforward for a Belgian style. That is the American way. I have yet to try a wimpy or lifeless beer from Avery. trevor211 (504), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2009 Tasted as part of the Avery Experience at Brouwer’s. Pours a light honey color with a mid-sized head. Boozy citrus hops on the nose, with some baking spices - almost like a Belgian wit on steroids. Light brown sugar, honey malts, apricot and peach. Slightly floral flavor, but full-bodied. Nice. ajm (926), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Tap at Pap. I don’t usually like lighter Belgians, but this was very nice. Reminded me of Castelaine de Garde but stronger and with more bite. Tart mulberries, yeast, sourdough bread, funk are what I picked up, mixed up in that classic ’trippel’ taste. Tastes like it’s from Belgium, not Boulder, so I guess they hit their mark. Butters (1650), Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Fitting for my 777th rating. Bottle shared with barrios and sixfootsix at woody’s. Clear copper pour with good white head. Aroma really does have the fruity apricot notes as described, some yeast. Syrupy fruity and floral hops with a pine twist and noticable abv as it warms. Thought I was drinking an Imperial IPA for a second! Medium thick body with medium carbonation. Great label art.
