Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Tropical fruits aroma and tangerine flavor. Strong citrus finish. Shortbread sweetness develops as it warms.

Very interesting, and, after a full 750, I’m still not sure how I feel about it. A pretty beer, lovely golden with a hint of brown. Head is frothy and sticky with a slight salmon tinge to the color. Love the nose--it’s soft, creamy, and fruity, and a little musty. It’s a very sweet brew, lots of candy sugar. Very fruity, starting with a slightly harsh banana flavor, finishing up liked sweetened apple juice with some pear and peach added. Fizzy, akin to ginger ale. Nice round, soft, and luscious mouthfeel, melding with the sugary fruitiness to make this taste like a liquid taffy of some sort. The sweetness lacks depth, however, and lacks any particularly distinctive flavor. My guess is this would improve considerably with aging.

Honey coler liquid with tiny bubbley foam. Aroma of fruit, phenols, honey flavored malts, vegetables, dirt, with spice being the theme here. Pale malt becomes more evident as it reaches room temperature. Flavors of spice match the aroma to the T. A perfect Autumn beer with its warming alcohol, yet quenching ability. Very straightforward.

Gold color. The aroma is not impressive, the taste is much better, full bodied, malty, balanced by the bitterness, well mixed. Good.

Bottle. Thanks to my brother for sharing this. Aroma has lots of citrus orange rinds and lemons with a fair amount of coriander and some yeast notes. Citrus aromas are more dominant. Mildly hazy blonde/copper color with a nice frothy white head. Start is citrusy orange turning into a very cloying sweet middle. Finish is kind of weak with mild hints of pineapples. Too sweet and cloying for a belgian strong ale. Not enough hops or complexity for me.

Pours a lightly hazy golden with a thin white head. Sweet caramely bready Belgian yeast aroma has a touch of light fruity coriander spice. Starts semi-sweet and thick turning more dry and spiced toward the finish with some apple juice character. Reminiscent of a double wit, with more of a citrus yeasty profile. A decent Belgian strong, but could use some more balance between the spice and malt.

22oz. Bottle: Sweet aroma is very complex. Notes of fruit, blueberry, bubblegum, peach, yeast, and nutmeg. Poured golden in color with a big, creamy, off-white/light yellow head that lasted throughout. Very good lacing. Clear and lightly sparkling. Flavor is heavily sweet and lightly sour but not bitter. Tastes heavily of nutmeg and cinnamon. Also hints of coriander and tart cherry. Medium to full body. Flat to soft carbonation. Finish is long and tart/sour. Finish almost makes you pucker your lips. Overall, interesting. I liked it better than I thought I might.

Pours a hazy orange with a medium-sized white head with light lacing. Nose is of spice , yeast, and fruit. Taste is similar to the aroma with fruit and spices. Additionally, there is a good bit of sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
