Dec 12, 2006 Updated: Jul 23, 2009Minimal head from a very robust pour. Does not linger long with light carbonation. Wonderful sweet caramel aroma. Liquid caramel in a glass. Very sweet and alcoholic. Toffee, dark fruits and a hint of oak. Tons of malty goodness. Color is a cloudy ruddy brownish amber. WOOHOO, super smooth and alcoholic. Loads of caramel, sweet toffee, butter brickle, raisins and alcohol infused oak. Damn this is some tasty stuff. This stuff will mess you up also. Thick and chewey and super sweet. People who like a less sweet and drier beer will not like this one. Alcohol burns the gums. Finishes creamy smooth and filling. A great brew for those who likes the sweet chewy barleywines. Fantastic!

Dec 12, 2006 Updated: Dec 4, 2007On tap@O’Briens: Hazy dark amber color with a wisp of off-white foam. Aroma is light, sweet dark fruit with a hint of alcohol. Flavor starts rich sweet and fruity with apricot, raison, sweet cherry and date followed by a spicy bitter sweet citrus rind finish. Full bodied, rich and smooth with soft carbonation.

Dec 8, 2006 Beautiful amber with a light brown head. Very malty arina with lots of raisin and another riped fruit that I cannot put my finger on. Flavour is very sweet, almost cloying.

Dec 7, 2006 Pours a dark copper with small white head and nice carbonation. Aroma is ripened fruits and oak. Flavor is of fermented fruits, malts, and maybe vanilla extract. ABV was hidden quite well. It is strong, thick and rich on the palate.

Dec 5, 2006 This $7.69 bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a very hazy strongly carbonated orange brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was vinous and brown malt. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a strong vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of spices dark caramel vinous brown malt and alcohol. A wonderfully complex flavor with a kick. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
