Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 23, 2004 An amber beer with a white head. The aroma contains lots of hops as well as coriander. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and hints of alcohol while the end is bitter and dry with some amounts of alcohol. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 4, 2003 Tasted at the Light Ales/Lagers Tasting in Chicago. Bright copper. Aroma: chewy caramel, some florals, slight almond notes. Big malt palate - pale, sticky, and syrupy. Some apricot. Long flavours of malts, but nothing special. Reminds of Lee's Harvest Ale, which isn't really my bag. argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA Jul 2, 2003 (RBSG2003): Clear amber with minimal off-white head. Aroma is sweet, alcohol, syrupy, malty and moppy (floral and lots more). Taste is sweet, alcohol, syrupy, but not much otherwise. Seems like some of the flavors cancel each other out. Nice warming swallow. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 11/28/2005

Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jan 18, 2004 Very clear amber, surprisingly so, generous white head with irregular bubbles, many of which are ridiculously oversized. Aroma is pretty faint for a beer with that much ingredients, slightly vinous with notes of alcohol and sweet malt. Taste is initially very sweet, toasty cookies malt with a complex hop character, obvious alcohol. Long-lasting bitter aftertaste that stays on the tongue for quite a while and is very warming. Low-to-medium lacking body like Hog Heaven as MartinT points out, slightly creamy. While this bottle is around a year old, this could definitely be a bit more mellow. A living proof that it takes more than a bunch of ingredients and big numbers to make a fine tuned crafted brew.
