Huge dark fruit aroma. Some figs and alcohol with some spices. Strong flavors of raisin and tobacco. Some prune as well. A little hop bitterness. Quite the sipper. Light alcohol tastes, especially considering the strength. BeerGestapo (738), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA

There is a strong molasses aroma with caramel and raisins. The taste is of roasted malts, sweet honey, hops, dark fruit, and of course alcohol. The 16.42 % might put you down for the count if you drink this strong ale to fast.....lol. douglas88 (1577), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Pours a very nice dark amber body with a thick light beige head. The aroma is very sweet; tons of caramel, molasses, malts, candied plums, and a ton of brown sugar. The taste is also quite sweet, marmalade, brown sugar, cotton candy, plum and raisins, toasted malt, a touch of hops come through. Quite a lot of flavor. The sugars really stick out. Too sweet for me, but nice. Not really that hot, but the alcohol shows. Hophead22 (1087), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA

Malt bomb, raisiny as well, lots of sugar. Big warming alcohol, kind of like a fruty liqour going down and coating the back of your throat, wow. This is the kind of stuff you look for, pretty damn good. Habanero (617), Tranbjerg, Denmark

The nose is of malt, alcohol and dried, dark fruit. Very sweet flavour with malt, raisins and molasses. Syrup texture. Full bodied. Sweet and alcoholic finish. Nice brew, but too sweet for my taste. charlotte (2014), Vanløse, Denmark

Quite attractive. The aroma was hoppier than I expected with plenty of syrupy sweetness, light yeast and some woody earthiness. The flavor wasn’t the sugar bomb I expected. The hops came through along with some light tart fruit but the molasses and brown sugar cetainly led the way. The mouthfeel was full without being over the top. Nice. Adenila (936), Denmark

2007 edition. Orange with a thick baige head. Aroma is extremly malty, lots of grain and brewmash and its almost like you can smell the alchohol aswell. Flavor is overwhelming. Heavy thick body with flavors of caramel, suger molasses grain and alchohol. Its alot more like a strong barleywine than a belgian beer i think, which was abit disappointing.
