Commercial Description:
The Beast is a seducer - accomodating, complicated, powerful, dark and created to last the ages. Beyond this, it’s futile to attempt to describe Him. He will unveil Himself differently to each of His followers. The mark is in His constitution. Brewed with two-row malted barley, honey malt, and imported Belgian specialty grains (aromatic, pale wheat, roasted wheat, and Special B), hops (Magnum, Galena, Saaz, Hallertau, Tettnang, and Hersbrucker), brewing sugars (raisins, dates, blackstrap molasses, alfalfa honey, turbinado, and dark Belgian candy sugar), water, Belgian yeast and another hellion of a yeast strain.OG: 1.138

From my notes, November ’05. Orange brown color with little head. Nose of molasses and citrus. Tastes like maple syrup and alcohol. Balanced palate. This stuff made me sick to my stomach, it is just too sweet.

Bottle sampled with Beerded one pours orange brown with a decent sized tan. Aroma of hops, citrus, belgian style spices, fruit. Flavor is smooth, citrus, spicey, fruit, caramel, slight hoppy bitterness. Great brew.

Orange/mahogany pour with a medium tan head. Very intense alcohol nose, with sweet roasted malt backbone. Intensely sweet, syrupy, vinous and alcoholic flavors cling cloyingly, strangle each and every last tastebud, and then linger to coat every square inch of mouth, teeth, tongue, tonsil, throat, and esophagus, and I presume all the rest of the pathway down and out! Very strong and pervasive dried fruit and burnt sugar notes. Tastes like equal parts date paste, sweet sherry, and rubber skid mark. Might be a bit over the top, you think?

This beer kicked my ass. 2005 batch in a 12 oz bottle. Poured a blood red with a mostly diminishing large, light brown head. Initial aromas of raisins and prunes, warming to molasses, toffee, butter, and zuchini bread. The 14.9% can’t be missed either. Mellows into a nice cherry pie smell, complete with a flakey, buttery crust. What an aroma. I find if I breath into the glass it burns my eyes. Heavily sweet with sourness on board in force. Full bodied with a downright syrupy mouthfeel, aftertaste of rock candy. There’s a ton of sugar here, and a ton of alcohol. High alcohol character - warms your mouth, your stomach, your brain. Lively carbonation and a heavy alcoholic finish. Asskicker. ASSKICKER.

A dark oak color. Lots of alcohol everywhere...nose and tongue. A lot of stuff going on that i can’t remember and wish i took notes. plus i drank it out of a plastic cup. it was good but alcohol was fierce.

Fruity vinous like vinegar aroma , medium to dark amber with a nice redish hue, extremely week head retention, flat. Cloying sweetness with noticable fruit, plum, molasses, light-mild hop bitterness and flavoring hops, Very warming due to the ABV, Drinking out of chalice.. Batch 3 OG 1.148 makes a nice, Makes for a nice treat after dinner...a big cigar would be nice with..

Sweet, pungent nose, dominated by molasses and soy sauce. Similar taste, cloying sweetness, maybe a very slight touch of smokiness. I don’t know, the sweetness is so overwhelming. The only other thing you taste is alcohol. $9.50 for a 12 oz is a bit steep, eh.
